About us

‘United We Made It’ is an organisation working with a team of capable adults living with a disability. Together we create one off pieces for you to treasure. Together we work towards the team’s NDIS goals and achieve them in a safe and happy environment.

Our Values

Relationships - Our aim is to build relationships within our team and the wider community with respect for each other. We will communicate and listen and work towards everyone having a better understanding of each other. We will focus on teamwork between the participants and the staff.
Inclusion - We will lead by example, always be respectful and inclusive to each other and the community. We will be respectful of each other’s beliefs.
Innovation - We will always do our best to find a way for all our participants to have the choice to be involved in all projects. Finding innovative ways to change if something isn’t working.
Communication - We aim to always work on communication within our space. We will embrace all communication styles and always try to improve our communication with each other and our community.
Repurposing and recycling - When possible, we will try to find a way to reuse, repurpose and recycle. A large majority of our projects will have this focus.
Community Connection - Our community is important to us. We wish to work with our community and be involved in community events. We will focus on educating our community about our needs but also educate them to not focus on our disability but our capabilities.

Our Services

Participants learn many different skills and create one off items in the workshop. We do macrame, sewing, weaving, woodwork, restoring old furniture, painting and much more. We have a focus on recycling, repurposing, and reusing. The items made by our participants are sold in United We Made It shop which is open to the community. You will see us at the leisure centre, enjoying a walk at the foreshore, participating in exhibitions at the Nautilus arts centre or dining away at restaurants around the city.
